Providing Healthcare for the Forest of Dean

The GPs of the Forest of Dean have been offered an opportunity to take part in a project to improve patient access to primary care services for the residents of the Forest of Dean.   Extra GP and Nurse clinics will be held during normal hours, and additional appointments will also be offered at one of the Forest of Dean Surgeries between 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm on weekdays and on Saturday mornings. Patients registered with any GP Surgery within the Forest of Dean will be able to have an appointment at these extra clinics.

This is an exciting project and involves all 11 of the Forest of Dean Surgeries working together for the benefit of the population of the Forest of Dean.

In time, the aim is to increase the number of appointments offered for those patients with a chronic disease, and to provide a home visiting service for those patients who are too frail to come into a Surgery.

This project will be closely monitored on how it is performing, and whether we, as a primary care community, are delivering the care required to meet the healthcare needs of the Forest of Dean.

Please follow the link below to read the latest Press Release on how the Project is performing, issued in November 2018.
